ATTENTION....STARTING JUNE 1, 2010.....one of the first new changes to come from the Federal Health Care Overhaul, ALL patients will be required to provide a government issued photo ID at the time of their appointment (driver's license, passport, etc.) with a name that matches the name on their insurance card. Children under 18, the parent's or guardian whose insurance will be covering the exam, must be present and provide a government issued photo ID that matches the name of the insurance policy holder. YOUR INSURANCE WILL NOT COVER YOUR EXAM OR YOUR CHILD'S EXAM IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE A GOVERNMENT ISSUED PHOTO ID AT THE TIME YOU CHECK IN AND YOU WILL BE BILLED PRIVATELY FOR ALL SERVICES.
Watts Eye Associates apologizes for any inconvenience. This is not our policy, but the Federal Government's new requirements as they try to reign in some of the insurance fraud that is unfortunately far too common. We will try our best to make this transition as smooth as humanly possible. It will be rough at first but eventually will become second nature at all doctor's visits.
Teaching the future Optometrists of America here in Newburyport!! Watts Eye Associates is a teaching site for optometry students participating in their 3rd year clinical rotations. Our office is one of three private practices in Massachusetts, asked by the New England College of Optometry in Boston, to serve as a teaching site for future optometrists. Drs. Watts and McDonald are adjunct clinical faculty members at the college, passing on their knowledge for providing superior eyecare to 3rd year interns every Wednesday at our Newburyport office. Stop in to meet our student optometrists and be a part of their valuable educational experience.
